The socks issue.
Everybody knows the rules: sex without socks, no shorts, pale legs, and sandals with socks. Even though the horrifying images of some German elderly committing the fashion-faux pas seems to persist. All of the sudden the 80’s come back and you see the new school b-boys with the Adidas tennis socks showing of their sneakers. Not really a phenomenon seeing that the old school music is celebrating its come back. I visited streetlab which was taken place on the first weekend of freedesigndom. It was a lot of fun especially when seeing that most models running down the catwalk wore these flashy socks. Other examples come from music artists like The Cool Kids, Kid Cudi, or the rapper from the Midwest kid Sister with her song pro nails. All of these artists represent the new style, which shines through their music and their clothing. While some creative minds of the high fashion magazines proclaim this style as gangster and probably embarrassing it is rocking the streets of metropoles like New York, Amsterdam, Tokyo and London. It just requires the right attitude and character. I have found this new website www.ridiculousdesignrules.com that discusses the issue of hot or not. It is really funny to see the editorials discussing the ridiculous design rules. You can vote for the ultimate Adidas socks in red, blue and other colors. Skinny jeans for b-boys, yes sir! ☺
